40K 21.4.12

Some quick pics from a 40k game down at the club last Saturday.

Not been good at the updates due to work commitments but have a few pics stored away.

This battle was between young Davids Tyranids

Still not complete but coming together nicely

Frightening looking beasts!

And Camerons Imperial Fists (is that correct?)

A nice looking battle field with loads of cool figures

I believe Jamie M C got in on the game too?

No idea who won but it looked the business!!!

40K 04.02.12

I dropped by the club on Saturday to take a few snaps of the action. Four nice games on the go with this Space Marine battle being the pick of the bunch.

Cool terrain and figures on show

Cameron and David were fighting out this 1.

David's Ultra Marines holding the church ruin.

Some of Cameron's cool kit

Can't remember the name of them (Imperial Fist?).

And my favourite Space Marine guys with their jet packs.

As Ray says very cool terrain piece.

More of David's Ultra Marinesholding the line. In the end Cameron smashed Davids army to bits ;0)

40K 28.1.12

I'm very glad to say that at last someone at the club has started taking pictures of the action!!!

As you may know when my work pattern changed last year I was left with only 1 Saturday off in 3 and it's pretty hard to tell the wife you are going to spend it down at the club playing with little men (sad face)

Thankfully it doesn't matter now as a new lad Cameron has appeared full of enthusiasm and also pretty handy with a camera.

You can see more pics of today's battle over at Cameron's own blog (that looks very promising) so mind and drop by and check it out: Braidwood Wargames Blog

Imperial Face Off 8.1.11

So we had a great turn out on Saturday for the 1st club day of 2011. We had 4 games on the go with 9 players and 3 guests (I was a guest as I had just received a massive box of figures in the post from a swap, Whaaahooo!!! and wanted to trawl through it). Anyway back to the Action.

Now this is 1 for the watching as Simon and Jonathan have both embarked on new 40K armies (Simon is collecting Salamanders and Jonathan is going for Space Wolves). So I am really looking forward to seeing their armies take shape.

It's good to see some more 40K action at the club. This is the 1st of Jonathan's wolves primed ready for painting. I think the space wolves are 1 of the coolest chapters but also have 1 of the trickiest paint schemes. Jonathan I wish you well young wolf warrior!

These are some mighting machines, I was standing a little too close and I swear I could feel the engine heat off them! Honest ;-)

Looks like the Salamanders are taking the fight to the wolves. Some terminators advance on Jonathan's Land Raider with covering fire from their own big beast.

And in they go ready for the kill.

Again I have no idea who won?

Salamanders and Tyranids

This week David, Martin and Simon had planned on a points games for 40K. I believe this is the 1st 40K points game David and Martin have played at the club? So a new beginning and it certainly looked the part

Finally moving away from the darkest spot in the room younDavid and Martin decided to set up on the darkest sheet in the room ;-)

Simon was playing the Salamanders and has been building his force up from scratch so we should be seeing loads of newly painted Spacemarines over the coming months.

The Tyranid force this week came from David P snr and jnrs collection.

Some Salamanders in a bit of trouble here.

More nids swarming around some unlucky troops.

Loads of them

Enough to drive a rod of fear through your heart!

And there is an awful lot more in this collection (snake like creatures and flying beasts).

A close up of a couple of Simons newly painted Salamanders.

And 1 of young Davids newly finished Ultramarines (not used today)

And I think this is 1 of the tyranid leaders? I don't think he isn't quite finished yet?

Imperial Shoot-em-up

Charles, Martin and David P (jnr) fought out a 40k skirmish on Saturday with some nice troops on show.

Charles fielded his Imperial Guard against a much larger force.

Small in number but they put up a brave fight.

A nicely painted command set by Charles (maybe you can give your dad some painting pointers?).

Smart looking battlefield.

The guys parked their game in the darkest area of the table so not many photo's came out that well.

The Ultramarine force. Maybe you could finish off that base David?

Some hand to hand combat.

The lads had enough time to have a wee game of Lord of the Rings, cool!

Likewise Martin, maybe you could finish off your bases :-)

Tyranid Invasion

Silently from the darkened skies they fell threatening the very heart of the Imperium . . .

The Tyranid invasion had begun . . .

. . . Sparked into life by the body heat of any creature unfortunate enough to pass by their resting place

Soon a violent struggle ensued to protect the home worlds from disappearing into nothingness

Terror took hold with only the Space Marine chapters standing in the way of humanoid annihilation!

Brave terminators taking the brunt of the first wave of Alien Invasion

The Citadel standing proud as a hope to mankind.

The walls are breached

Who will save us now?

Blood Angels assault marines ready themselves for battle.

Into the storm they ride . . .

. . . but still they come

A very nice looking game (the best looking 1 of the day?) from the younger lads this week. A mass of Space Marines trying to hold out as long as possible against the Tyranid infestation.
